How do I find the right therapist?
I offer a free over the phone consultation to answer questions you may have. This provides you with an opportunity to share a little bit about the difficulties bringing you to therapy. Allows me to discuss my approach, experience or perhaps discuss a recommendation to someone else if needed. This is a very important piece of the therapeutic process, please take your time but don't hesitate to ask the questions that can help you make a decision to start. Please note I will return your phone call within 24-48 hours.
What is your treatment orientation?
I have an eclectic practice. I rely on various treatment modalities depending on what is needed. Among them are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Brainspotting (BSP), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Attachment-based Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Mindfulness Practice, Modified Parent-Child Interactive Therapy (PCIT), Play Therapy, Sand Play, Motivational Interviewing, Interpersonal, Humanistic, Family Systems and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).
What do I need to start?
Once scheduled to begin therapy, I will set up a client portal profile to get you scheduled and for you to complete some of the initial paperwork for the intake and evaluation session. Each member participating in therapy will have some paperwork to complete on the day of the appointment to include clinical paperwork/evaluation of symptoms. Couples- each adult participating in therapy will need to complete their own separate forms. I can email you some of those forms ahead of time if you prefer. If so please bring the completed forms with you to your first appointment. In doing so we can get started right away and avoid spending time in session completing forms.

If you and I had a phone consultation or if you know you are ready to get started - call my confidential voicemail (916) 347-2992 or email me firstname.lastname@example.org and let me know. We will discuss schedule availability and secure your appointment date & time.
